THE MECHANICS OF KARMA

The mechanism of karma appears to be essentially a byproduct of the design of life and the universe, and as a result provides a natural scheme of salvation. It has nothing to do with punishment---that should be made clear. In fact, basically this mechanism appears to be a cosmic law of physics, which protects the whole universal system. We consequently have what we call 'karmic lessons'. Without this karmic law (referred to in channelling as the 'Great Karmic Law'), entities of consciousness would accumulate negativity and eventually become totally fragmented from the whole, resulting in annihilation. In turn this could ultimately destroy the whole. (Strictly, there can be no destruction or annihilation at the Absolute level of consciousness.) Thus it is desirable to have a mechanism which protects the whole. These laws would operate on different magnitudes throughout the cosmos, with more extensive descriptions, such as universal immune or antivirus systems---types of override mechanisms. In general, for every action there will be a consequence to that action.

The fragmentation results because in order to do something to another, which one would not want done to oneself, the prior condition would be that one must be blocked off in one's ability to perceive the other person's viewpoint. This, in effect, creates a break in the communication lines within that space of the Cosmos. In doing this, one builds up occlusion within one's consciousness, fragmenting it, lowering the vibrations, and one gradually sinks into increasing unconsciousness. Note that such a process can't be observed when it is a gradual devolution. Consciousness fundamentally can only know its own state. In other words, we are saying that the more harm one does to life in the universe, or even the harmonic structure of the universe, the more one's consciousness will degenerate, but karma or self-improvement can correct this.

In effect, the karmic law creates debt whenever harm is done to another, which, by the law of consequences will return to the offender. It is a mechanism which safeguards the whole (All That Is, God) but gives freewill to the fragments. Note that the law also pertains to good actions being returned to one, but the consequences of negative actions is of more concern.

It has been stated that this law cannot be annulled, but this doesn't mean the effects can't be corrected, either by the individual or on a grand scale by possibly higher spiritual authorities or God. But the law can't be annulled without a good reason.

In the East, people have retained an understanding of karma, contrary to Western education which omits it. Nevertheless, there has been a tendency, particularly in the East, to avoid helping another in karmic matters, with the misconception that they will incur karma by interfering with the individual's lessons. However, to the contrary we can know that omission in helping others can incur karma. One has to look at the bigger picture; it may be a condition whereby help is accepted, or required. This is one of the reasons Christianity rejected karma, believing that members would similarly take on this belief in contradiction to the Christian teaching regarding serving others. Also, in the 6th Century at Constantinople, Emperor Justinian and his wife removed the concepts of past lives and karma since they reflected on their own crimes.

Individual karma often occurs in group experiences as group karma in which the members of the group plan the events prior to the particular lifetime. And of course this planning of a lifetime always applies to any individual karma that needs to be resolved similarly, which has resulted from 'past' lives. This karma, created from previous lifetime experience, is brought into events which are planned prior to a lifetime with a view to resolving the karma.

The physics of karma has been described in terms of 'cause and effect'. Fundamentally, however, and from the higher viewpoint, in which space and time are spanned, cause and effect is simultaneous. For example, the perpetrator harms the victim; did the perpetrator cause this harm? From the third-dimensional viewpoint they apparently did, but taking into account more data we know that the victim also attracted the perpetrator. That is, each sought out the other---it is a simultaneous phenomenon. All polarities stem from unity. Only the superposition of the perpetrator energy and the victim will cancel the unbalance and polarity and form a neutral or unity condition.

This is an example of duality---a two-polarity system. The perpetrator pole and the victim pole are interdependent. You can't have one without the other. Evil can't exist without the opposite pole of receivers of evil.

Now this duality gives us a mechanism for the return of energy in order to learn lessons. In other words, starting with the fundamental state of all consciousness being in a state of unity, when a negative action is carried out on another, this unity splits into two, since the perpetrator mustn't know the other person's state of mind and therefore must be focussed on the one pole, which is themselves. This creates an imbalance of energies. Only the superimposition of the perpetrator energy and the victim will cancel the imbalance and polarity, and form a neutral or unity condition. This is achieved over time by taking on the opposite (flow), which is the same as, 'What one puts out one gets back'. In addition, we have the Great Law of Karma: 'As you sow, so shall you reap.' Also further philosophical statements: 'What we put out comes back to us'; 'We mirror what surrounds us'. Finally, we have that the Spirit is inviolate, since it is an absolute and beyond particle, wave pattern, space and time, and is only CAUSE (it must create or allow effects even on itself).

We might expect then that even every selfish action splits unity into the two poles of the duality, if it isn't already split, but in general the duality will already be there due to previous occurrences. The condition prior to this division is a harmonious, more four-dimensional one. All energies can operate in phase in this nondual 4D state, which means anyone can duplicate (can be) another's viewpoint and no harm is possible. But by dividing the unity into two poles, these energies are kept separate (and, in addition, the frequencies are lowered). Actions on the part of the individual utilising the energies of one side of this duality can harm another. The other pole, the debt, will then seek the first pole to achieve unity. As this happens the individual experiences the negativity they originally put out. This experience, even subconsciously, can sometimes produce a cancellation of the opposites and a subsequent resolution of the karmic distortions. Notice we say 'sometimes'. Why doesn't it always work---that's what the mechanism is for? Interactions on this planet are so chaotic and unaware that there is an endless stream of superimposed effects of this kind. The 'victim' is supposed to recognise that the negative action they are experiencing is telling them that something in their mind needs fixing. Knowing this they should then not react back at the perpetrator and the lesson is learned; the negative event will not repeat. The human condition on this planet is such that this ideal response is very rare. Thus, in general, resolving karma doesn't work well by this method at this time. However, this explanation doesn't appear to be recognised in religion, philosophy, New-Age channellings and off planet transmissions, and we have to regard it as a theory.

Nevertheless, this principle, of karmic cancellation given above has other particular physics applications. When we say bringing together the two poles (to cancel the debt/karma), this is the same as phase-conjugation in which two wave patterns, one reversed relative to the other (which simply means 180 degrees out of phase), come together and cancel one another. This was achieved with the Priore machine in the 1970s, which was developed to cancel disease patterns, before the invention was suppressed. Another application of cancellation and phase conjugation was achieved by the Germans during WWII. They apparently coated their U-boat periscopes with a material which caused radar to be reflected by 180 degrees, thus cancelling itself, preventing the return 'tell-tale' impulse. Note that in these examples of cancellation there is no reference to the two poles coming together to form a unity as in the karmic examples---this wouldn't be recognised in our current physics anyway---but in fact the two opposite poles, even for particles and antiparticles, do restore to unity when they come together (except in artificial laboratory environments or mutations observed by scientists) and the new particle unity appears in the next higher dimension (reference: 'The Emerging New Science' volume 1, and 'The New Science' volume 2).

The duality energy configuration is exactly the same as given in the author's article on the basic energy unit: the two centripetal spirals of energy coming from the 4D periphery of the vortex to the centre, form two poles and the subsequent oscillation between them. In terms of physics, the two poles shouldn't be visualised as in 3D, side by side, but one pole 'inside' the other 4th-to-3rd dimensionally (but is symmetrical with it). Thus if we have two people, A and B, representing the perpetrator and the victim respectively, each will have this duality in their own mind, that is, perpetrator/victim polarity. Person A will, say, be dramatising being the perpetrator, and B, the victim (they may change roles in another life). Each person projects out into the external world the imbalance. Person A seeks a balance by finding a victim B, and person B seeks a balance in perpetrator A. Eventually the duality resolves into unity and wholeness but as implied it appears as though it may take many roles of A and B, alternating from perpetrator to victim until they resolve the imbalance internally by observing their internal condition reflected outwards. Conscious awareness of this will speed up the process.

The ego is essentially a mass of unresolved dualities, each (duality) influencing the individual to resolve the polarities into unity. We can draw the conclusion that a behaviour which involves no conscious effort and intention of the individual to resolve these dualities results in learning by misadventure; that is, the basic imbalance reacts to seek balance; it isn't very efficient---person A kills B, which embeds a frequency pattern, recording this behaviour that attracts a resolution and A will probably be killed in turn. This is the slow and painful way of overcoming karma.

Is there any other way this could be resolved? It is apparent that if A attempts self-improvement to a sufficient degree, or works in service to others, depending on the extent of this, etc., the basic reaction could be alleviated and A will not have to be killed in turn. The very activity of applying effort to bring about change of a positive nature should eventually cancel the karma. An ideal change would always be possible, however, in which A perceives the imbalance within self by some therapeutic process or otherwise, and realigns it, resolving the karma immediately. These negative karmic thoughts are of low frequency and it appears that they are stored as crystallized imprints in cells. It would be ideal to release these, transmute these energies, before they manifest in physical reality and before the return process occurs. There are techniques available for this.

The mechanism described here is amenable to rigorous physics but karma in general will entail various factors that we can envisage as working with the rigid physics (unity/polarity law), as described. For example, intervention from high levels (already alluded to) and manipulation of karmic energies in situations where, for instance, a large group of people may experience a disaster to offset the karma of the whole race. Also, on the down side, karma can be coded into the DNA to cause people to commit negative acts and then (coded to) receive them back on themselves.

Possibly the most advanced method as far as knowledge is concerned, of handling karma, requiring not only persistence but a great deal of awareness, as alluded to earlier, is through the recognition that the environment is reflecting one's inner state, and the subsequent responsibility that this implies. More specifically, all problems, discomforts, conflicts impinging on one from the environment are fragments of oneself which one has disowned. This applies even if one is merely an observer of a discomforting situation. If one could understand that these experiences reflect one's own attributes that one has rejected, and integrate these into self---bring them in, not push them away---Karma becomes pointless. According to 'The Joseph Communications' information (channelled), the individual is not forced to return to Earth, nor does anyone need to, to learn something or whatever. We shall come back to this.

As one may have realised, this method will involve intricate organisation of group relationships so that it works for everyone. Science would reject this as impossible but we say it isn't (see article The Theory of One). It actually means that not only is oneself involved in this process but also others, even if it is a simple observation of another's problem. For example, you observe another's illness (the importance of which will depend how close this person is to you), and if a positive attitude is taken it will include both oneself and one's view of the other person, aiding not only resolving one's own disowned experiences relating to the observation, but also the other person's illness. The implication here is that more than the ill person may be involved in that person's illness. One can see that current science wouldn't consider the complexities of this.

Thus the strict and apparent unwavering mechanics of karma on the lower level must be viewed in relationship to a larger context involving other solutions for the karma, along with factors from higher influences, probabilities and intervention.

The key group factor here is that there are families of consciousness. Therefore in addition to the complexity of group effects alluded to above, that is, more than one self included in the activity or interaction, there are spiritual/consciousness family groupings. These are not the genetic and biological family groups with which we are familiar, though the biological family may contain also members from the same consciousness family.

All of creation manifests naturally through holographic and fractal forms. Consciousness is fractalised just as is, say, a tree, with fractal levels from twigs through branches, to large branches and finally the one trunk. There is organisation within organisation. There might be, say, three twigs to the one branch to which they are attached. It isn't consistent in nature generally. In the case of consciousness, the groupings are apparently in twelves, which is the basic geometric number of the universe, in fact the whole cosmos. Thus if there are 12 in a family in which, just as the branch is the higher unity of the three twigs, so the 12 members have a single soul (higher dimensionally). One can now see the karmic complications arising. If one member commits an offence, the soul is the higher aspect or expression of this member and thus has a reponsibility. This means in turn so do the others. One can now see that karma may be shared, at least to some degree. It is even more involved than this because the single soul member (at the second fractal level---compare tree) is one of 12 at its level, which means there is again a single 'oversoul' for the 12 souls (and now spanning 12x12 = 144 humans). [In fact from the Guardian material, which confirms the 12 geometry, the human consciousness has divided into 12 probable consciousnesses (these are real though). Thus the soul would span the 12 humans but also 12x12 = 144 probable selves.]

This progression continues up to many fractal levels. The important point here is its basis in karmic effects. We may see now why the subject is somewhat abstruse, lacking in specificity, such as the simple Eastern philosophy of oneself committing harm and experiencing the return in, say, the next life to restore the imbalance. A collective grouping may handle the karma. The physics of the energies involved in all this could be almost beyond our imagination. And science doesn't even recognise synchronicities (negative or positive) and believes all is governed by randomness and probabilities. A significant synchronicity may manifest an improbable possibility.

In addition to the 'other selves' factors, which brings in a further proportional responsibility, there are many entities, sub-personalities, elementals, fragments of consciousness, influencing one. However, the individual experiencing karma, at some level of consciousness, is agreeing/allowing the effects to occur, which may be constructive (for example, a challenge---to learn something) or destructive: self-persecution/punishment. A further handicap results from the procedure of incarnating, in particular, on this planet, which involves connecting up one's fields with the planet's, and any present disharmonies, energy imbalances, are transferred to the individual (who knows this beforehand). And finally we pick up other people's aberrations, disharmonics, from the countless burials of bodies (instead of cremation) from the scattered cells and atoms of the physical genetic body as it disintegrates. Note that many energy-body healing systems (where the memory of experience is not required) can be affective, in particular, for resolving this type of acquired potential dysfunction involving memory records that we didn't experience, that is, are not our own.

From what we have covered here it would appear that 'The Joseph Communications' material is the best and most important description of karma. However, within that non-technical description the physics explained above, such as phase-conjugation may still be valid.

On the subject of karma 'The Joseph Communications' series of books make a significant contribution to the understanding of Karma. This source states quite emphatically that there is no compulsion for a person to return to Earth to clear any karmic lessons, or anything left incomplete, etc. But it is the choice of the individual who, in spite of attempts to disuade them from returning to Earth, so often do return to Earth. We all build up powerful contextual structures (frequency-pattern recordings, forming our reality) and we become so used to them, like a continually reinforced habit, representing what a life is all about, and this prevents us from recognising the superior potential in the life and new dimension/environment.

Now karma is treated quite differently in 'The Joseph Communications': karma is said to be like 'dust on your sandals from previous journeys,' and is explained as a set of experiences 'designed to liberate' the individual from past mistakes and the consequences that follow. There are Lords of Karma who determine the course of the individual's next life on Earth who (the latter) insist on returning to Earth (such as, to repeat various experiences that they could be more successful with) but which will reactivate the past problems related to these experiences. The Karmic Board computes an immense complexity of events and probabilities to enable the person to gain the most from the karma, for not only the individual in question but many people they interact with, all designed to not just clear these past problems but to provide experiences of enlightenment, even 'milestones', that is, challenges to overcome. However, although the 'straight' path is indicated, the person has free will and the ego may take the 'crooked' path (causing suffering). The Guardians refer to 'experiential templates' downloaded from the soul level to guide the humans.

Of course there will be those more enlightened individuals who will return to Earth with the purpose of helping the planet, though not wanting to do this otherwise. The karmic goal is the hope that the person will turn to more spiritual pursuits that are in alignment with natural creation (God's purposes) and that when they return to the spiritual worlds they will simply say they were satisfied with that previous life on Earth but would not wish to go back----this would be considered a success by the Lords of Karma.
